BOLIVAR — Bolivar and Richburg firefighters knocked the fire down quickly, said Bolivar Fire Chief James Beaton, but there was little that could be saved Thursday at a residence on Friendship Street.
Beaton said the fire at the home of Oscar and Joyce Gaines was accidental. It started at the stove, investigators determined. The trailer was still standing, but is not livable, Beaton said.
“The major damage was to the kitchen area — a lot of smoke and heat damage to the rest of the trailer,” he said. “Nobody was home at the time.”
