The proposed school aid for the Bath-Haverling school district is 5%, according to information contained in Governor Andrew Cuomo's proposed 2016/17 budget. School Superintendent Joe Rumsey says, that a "bit of smoke and mirrors." Rumsey says much of that aid is for projects already completed...so basically, it is reimbursement...not 'new' money for programs. Rumsey said if you take the 'actual' aid, combined with the tax cap figure of .12%...and things become slightly more complicated. All in all, Rumsey says the district is doing well, has managed finances properly and no job cuts are anticipated.
