Regional NY unemployment rates

The New York State Department of Labor has released preliminary local area unemployment rates for December 2015. From December 2014 to December 2015, the State’s private sector job count increased by 164,100. In December 2015, the number of private sector jobs in the State was 7,880,000, a new all-time high.
When comparing December 2015 against December 2014, the unemployment rate was down 0.5% in Allegany County, 0.8% in Cattaraugus County, 0.5% in Steuben County and 1.2% in Wyoming County.
