Allegany County Sheriff says stay off the roads

THE ALLEGANY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THE ALLEGANY COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE WINTER STORM, WHICH HAS AFFECTED OUR REGION TODAY. HEAVY SNOWFALL ALONG WITH RAIN AND ICE HAS CREATED HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY.  

BASED UPON CURRENT FORECASTS AND CONDITIONS, THE ALLEGANY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND THE ALLEGANY COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES RECOMMENDS NO-UNNECESSARY TRAVEL. THIS IS NOT A TRAVEL BAN, BUT A RECOMMENDED TRAVEL ADVISORY.  THIS TRAVEL ADVISORY WILL ALLOW PLOW CREWS TIME TO CLEAR ROADS.

THERE IS NO LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY, ISSUED FOR ANY JURISDICTION IN ALLEGANY COUNTY AT THIS TIME.
