Grand Jury indicts Bolivar man

An Allegany County Grand Jury has indicted a Bolivar man. The indictments were handed up Thursday, charging Joseph L. Barrett, 37, of Main Street with felony strangulation and two counts of criminal mischief. According to the District Attorney's Office, Barrett strangled a woman until she nearly blacked out. He also allegedly broke the woman's cell phone when she attempted to call 911. The alleged crimes occurred December 22, 2015 in Bolivar.
