Obituary: Susan K. Luce, 51, Houghton

Susan K. Luce, 51, of 9723 Co. Rd 23, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville. Born October 9, 1964 in Cuba, NY, she was the daughter of Edwin H.Winans and Jeanette Devore . On September 19, 1999 in Scio, she married Philip F. Luce, who survives.
Susan grew up in Angelica and attended the Angelica Central School District. For the next many years Susan raised her family as well as being employed at various places. For a short period of time she was employed at Champion Co. in Perry. For many years she was a Tupper Ware Representative in the area and was owner - operator of Susie's Country Kitchen in Belfast She also was a care giver for many people in the area who needed a helping hand. She cooked for the GVATC. Susan enjoyed crafts of all kinds, sewing, painting pictures of many things, especially Demo cars. But the love of her life was her family, being Mom and Grandma doing for them and spending time with them. Her family was her whole life.She was a past member of the Rushford Ambulance Squad and the Rushford quilt making class. Surviving besides her husband Phil are her mother, Jeanette Austin of Scio; two sons, Kenneth G. (Roberta) Cobin of Rushford, and Dee Jay Cobin of North Pole, Alaska; three daughters, Amanda S. (Travis) Cobin of Hume, Sherri AV Luce of Rushford, and Stacy RL Luce of Rushford; a daughter-in-law, Tina L. Cobin of Wellsville; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two brothers, Edwin H. Winans of Scio, and Rodney (Kelly) Winans of Wellsville; three sisters, Annette J. (Robert) Kish of Belfast, April M. (Tim) Baxter of Port Allegany, PA, and Nikki Dipilato of Roulette, PA; and several nieces and nephews.Susan was predeceased by her father, Edwin Winans and step father, Victor Austin.
Friends may call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast Tuesday February 23, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday February 24, 2016 from noon to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m. funeral and committal services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Roy Debries, Pastor of the Bellville Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bellville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rushford Ambulance Squad.
