PA: Woman dies in McKean County house fire

A house fire claimed the life of a 69 year old woman Saturday morning. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a passing truck driver spotted the home fully engulfed in flames shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday. Smethport firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 763 route 446 in Keating Township. Troopers said the woman was found unresponsive. The preliminary cause of death was listed as smoke inhalation. A Smethport fire chief declared a second alarm which brought in volunteers and equipment from Port Allegany, Rew and Norwich Township. The home was declared a total loss. State police say their investigation continues.
