UPDATED: Police investigate fatal crash in Andover

On February 20, 2016 at 8:41 pm, Troopers responded to a 911 report of a one vehicle fatal crash on County Route 22 in the Town of Andover.  Investigators said  Betty K. Matison, 60 of Andover, NY, was traveling north on CR 22 when her vehicle failed to negotiate a right hand curve.  Matison’s 1993 Geo Tracker exited the roadway and stuck an earth embankment causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times, ejecting Matison from the vehicle.  Matison was pronounced dead at the scene by Allegany County Coroner Maynard Baker and transported to the Monroe County Medical Examiners Office for autopsy.
 State police assisted at the scene by Andover Fire Department, Andover Ambulance and Andover Police.  NYSP Collision Reconstruction and BCI also responded to the scene and the investigation continues at this time.

State police are investigating a fatal crash in the Town of Andover. Responders were sent to County Road 22 at 8:41 p.m. Saturday. A coroner was requested at the scene at 2 a.m. Sunday and troopers ordered the vehicle impounded and sent to the Amity barracks. Firefighters from Andover and Whitesville kept the road closed until about 3 a.m. Sunday. State police have not released details, but say the investigation continues.
