Power outages continue Wednesday

Although the major winter storm which struck the region Tuesday (2/16/16) has passed, its effects still linger twenty-four hours after the first snowflake was spotted. The heavy, wet snow topped with ice caused tree's and power lines to topple. Fire departments continue to be dispatched early Wednesday for fallen trees. Here is the power outage update:
Allegany County:
As of 3:25 a.m. National Grid was reporting 16 separate outages impacting 59 customers. NYSEG said a total of 562 customers were without power while RG&E reported 1,103 customers without power.
Cattaraugus County:
National Grid reported seven separate outages impacting 84 customers. Grid expected power restoration by 5 a.m.
Steuben County:
NYSEG was still reporting 1,210 customers without power, down from more than 6,000 on Tuesday.
Potter County:
Penelec said there were less than five customers without power.
McKean County:
Penelec shows 11 separate outages impacting 64 customers.
