A report from the New York Post says Governor Andrew Cuomo is gearing up for a possible 2020 presidential run -- if Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders don't win this year.
According to the New York Post, sources close to the governor say a presidential campaign is already underway. Some say a speech in Buffalo last week was "proof positive" he's looking to use his "progressive agenda" to reach higher office -- following the recent success of Bernie Sanders' grass roots campaign. Gov. Cuomo made a push for a $15 per hour minimum wage and the family leave mandate -- saying they are needed not just in New York, but nationally as well.
According to the Post, a conservative-leaning tabloid, Cuomo is moving from a "centrist to a leftist that actually gets things done."
News10NBC reached out to the governor's office to ask about this article and these comments. We haven't received a response yet.
