Allegany County: Personnel Committee minutes, March 16

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:26 p.m. by Board Chairman Curt Crandall.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Legislator Decker, seconded by Legislator Curran, and carried to approve the Personnel Committee minutes of February 17, 2016.
NYSAC Resolution – DMV Services
            This resolution calls for an increase in the share of revenue counties retain for providing State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) services.  Chairman Crandall highlighted the seventh whereas in the resolution saying there is a clear inequity present when a county DMV provides all the services, including overhead and staffing needs, to fulfill these DMV services needed for state residents, yet the State takes 87.3 percent of the revenue generated from providing these services.  A motion to support this resolution was made by Legislator Curran, seconded by Legislator Decker, and carried.  Prepare Resolution
Board of Elections
            Commissioner Rick Hollis stated yesterday the Village of Angelica overwhelming voted to turn over their elections to the Board of Elections in November. He noted this will require the Village to be separated from the Town, and add an election district. There will be two separate ballots, and it is not a hard to do that. Mr. Hollis said it will not impact the Republican Committee this year because it will take effect next year.
