Allegany County Sheriff's Blotter


Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that following an investigation at the Allegany County Jail, the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and deputies arrested Jeremiah D. Edwards, age 24, of 3050 Riverside Drive in Wellsville for the following charges:
           Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree.
           Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
The arrest stems from an incident in which Edwards allegedly introduced heroin into the County Jail.  Deputies said Edwards was in possession of six bags of heroin which were concealed inside his sock and found by Correction Officers during a routine search.Edwards was arrested and arraigned in the Town of Amity Court and remanded back to the County Jail on $2,500.00 Cash Bail or $5,000.00 Insurance Company Bond.   Edwards is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.  He will reappear in the Town of Amity Court on March 30th, 2016 for additional court action.

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that deputies assisted the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest of Ryen T. Putt, age 24, of 1767 Happy Hollow Road in Olean on an Allegany Town Court Bench Warrant. Putt was arrested without incident after being released from the County Jail on unrelated charges, processed and turned over to the custody of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office arrested Courtney L. Baker, age 29, of 206 Maple Avenue in Wellsville, on an Allegany County Family Court Warrant. Baker was arrested without incident at the County Jail, processed, transported, arraigned in County Court and released on her own recognizance. Baker is to reappear in Allegany County Family Court on March 28th, 2016 for additional court action.

Deputies assisted the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest of Andrew L. Crowner, age 28 of 3685 East Main Street in Wellsville on a Warrant of Arrest issued out of Livingston County Court. Crowner was arrested and turned over to the custody of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
