Alma: Three people burned in campfire/bonfire incident

UPDATE (3/13/16, 12:30 p.m.): The patients that were flown to Rochester are currently listed in "guarded" condition. The injured were not from the Alma, NY area.
Three people were burned Saturday night, two severely. The injuries occurred, reportedly, as a campfire/bonfire was being fueled with gasoline on County Road 38 in the town of Alma. Ambulances from Wellsville and Bolivar responded to the scene as did Medic 700, Alma and Allentown fire and DC-6. According to EMS reports, one patient sustained burns over 90% of the body. A female victim reportedly sustained second and possibly third degree burns to face and lesser burns to the stomach. Mercy Flight from Olean and LifeNet 77 from Hornell responded to a landing zone near the scene and flew both patients to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. A third burn victim was taken by ambulance to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville with unspecified burns, although advanced life support was requested. The second helicopter left the scene at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
The medical calls continued to pour in for Wellsville while crews were in Alma. Amity Rescue, Andover Ambulance and Genesee, PA ambulance all responded to Wellsville to answer medical calls.
