Bath teenager arrested after knife attack

State police, on March 29, 2016 at approximately 3:15 p.m., responded to a female “out of control” with a knife on Moorehaven Drive in Bath. During the course of the investigation state police found that Brittany Phearsdorf, 17, of Moorehaven Dr. Bath, NY allegedly engaged in a physical domestic dispute with Audrey Phearsdorf, 36, of Moorehaven Dr. Bath, NY. During the dispute Brittany allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to stab Audrey with the knife. State Police Investigator Jeremy Hagadone said the teenager was able to run the knife down the center chest of Audrey causing minor lacerations. In an attempt to gain control, Garret Phearsdorf, 28, of Moorehaven Dr. Bath, was able to get the knife away from Brittany. Hagadone said Brittany then allegedly bit Garret on the hand causing injury to his right hand. Both Garret and Audrey were checked over by the Bath Volunteer Ambulance and Garret was taken to Ira Davenport Hospital for his hand injury. Brittany Phearsdorf was arrested for Assault 2nd, a class ‘D’ Felony, Assault 3rd, a class ‘A’ misdemeanor, Menacing 2nd with a weapon, a class ‘A’ misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon with intent to use, a class ‘A’ misdemeanor. Brittany Phearsdorf was arraigned in front of Bath Town Justice Burns and sent to the Steuben County Jail on $5,000.00 cash bail and $10,000.00 property bail.
