Cuba woman goes to prison in assault and drug cases

In Cattaraugus County court Monday, Breanna Winicki, 21, of Cuba, was sentenced to a term of 2 years in state prison for her conviction to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, class D felony and Driving While Impaired, a misdemeanor.  The incident occurred on October 23, 2015, in the City of Olean, when she drove while her ability was impaired by drugs and knowingly and unlawfully possessed a controlled substance with the intent to sell it. Winicki was also sentenced to 2½ to  3 years in prison to run concurrent with the previous sentence and restitution for her conviction to Assault in the Second Degree, class D felony.  That crime occurred on August 6, 2015, in the Town of Hinsdale, when she caused  injury a person by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.
