Former Scio Resident Arrested for Grand Larceny at Andover Rod & Gun Club

As the result of a lengthy investigation by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (B.C.I.), Deborah N. Simcox, age 48 of Prescott, AZ was arrested on a charge of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class D Felony). The arrest stems from an investigation into the finances of the Andover Rod and Gun Club where Simcox had served as the treasurer of the organization. It is alleged that Simcox is responsible for missing funds of about $11,000. The alleged crime occurred between May 2013 and October 2014. She was arraigned in the Town of Friendship Court in front of Justice Walter Schurr. She was released on her own recognizance to return to the Town of Andover Court on May 9th. Since Simcox voluntarily flew back to the area to address the charges, the court did not consider her a flight risk and was satisfied she and her attorney would be present for future court dates. The State Police were assisted in the investigation by Trooper Tom Shamp, SP Batavia and Allegany County District Attorney Keith Slep.
