Friendship man arrested, deputy slightly injured

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that deputies from the Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 24 arrested Terry J. Burdick, age 33 of 12 Linwood Avenue in Friendship on the following charges:
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree.
- Resisting Arrest.
- Assault in the 2nd Degree (felony).
The arrest stems from a vehicle stop at the Arrow Mart parking lot in Friendship, when Burdick attempted to flee deputies on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, deputies placed Burdick in custody.  One of the deputies involved received minor injuries during the pursuit.  Burdick was arrested, processed, arraigned in the Town of Amity Court and remanded to the County Jail on $2,500.00 cash bail or $5,000.00 insurance company bond.  Burdick is to reappear in the Town of Friendship Court on March 1st, 2016 for additional court action.  Burdick’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
