Modifications to Olean parking lots announced

In an effort to provide as many parking spaces as possible for the patrons of the North Union Street businesses during the upcoming construction season, the City of Olean has announced the following modifications to two of the City-owned parking lots.
The North Barry Street lot that is adjacent to Hamilton Street and the North First Street lot that is adjacent to West Sullivan Street will both have ticket booths manned from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The price to park in the lots will be $.25 per hour. In addition a monthly pass can be purchased from the City Clerk’s office. The City of Olean will provide the merchants affected by the construction with coupons to validate one hour of free parking for their customers as they patronize their businesses.
"The City’s goal is to provide as much off-street parking as possible during the North Union Street project," said William J. Aiello, Mayor of the City of Olean. "In total there are 220 parking spaces in the two lots and that will accommodate many of the Downtown Olean business patrons."
The parking attendants will begin to man the lots on Monday, March 7, 2016. For more information on the monthly parking pass for the lots, please call the City Clerk’s office at 716-376-5604.
