Steuben County: Troopers investigate theft of rare musical instrument

State Police in Steuben County are currently investigating the theft of an English Horn; a reportedly rare and valuable musical instrument.
The theft is suspected to have occurred between the months of January 2016 to late February or early March 2016 and is believed to have been stolen from an unidentified residence in/around the Jasper – Troupsburg, NY area.  No Victim/Complainant has reported the theft as of yet. 
The New York State Police are asking residents with any information as to the origin of such musical instrument to telephone SP Wayland at (585) 728-5007 or SP North Hornell at (607) 324-3038.  New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Investigator Ryan Bentley is actively investigating this incident. RNN reached out to Investigator Bentley requesting photos. He said “I’d request individuals claiming ownership to identify the property prior to releasing images.”
