Alfred State Drive for Soldiers, Service Dogs Successful

Organizers of a month-long donation drive in support of soldiers and military service dogs at Alfred State College are thanking the community for helping to make the event a great success.  According to Danielle Green, chair of Alfred State’s Business Department, the drive drew a significant response from the campus community and beyond.  For the four-legged soldiers she said they were able to procure over 30 bags of Science Diet dog treats, toys, brushes, and toothpaste.  They even had a few dog beds and collars donated, but as they couldn’t be mailed, they were donated to Grand View (Canine Care) in Arkport.  For the service men and women, scarves, socks, toiletries, games, hats, and more were donated.  In all, 10 boxes were filled with supplies for soldiers, veterans, wounded warriors, and service dogs.
