Allegany County Sheriff's Blotter

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that on April 13th, 2016, deputies were notified by the Corrections Division that an inmate, who is currently incarcerated at the Allegany County Jail on other charges, had allegedly violated a Temporary Order of Protection on numerous occasions, by contacting the protected party named in the Temporary Order of Protection. Following an investigation, deputies arrested Richard J. Whalen, 37, from Friendship New York and charged him with eight (8) separate counts of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree. Whalen was processed and then transported to the Town of Friendship Court where he was arraigned and committed to the Allegany County Jail on $20,000.00 Cash Bail or $40,000.00 Property Bond.  Whalen will reappear in the Town of Friendship Court on June 7th, 2016, for additional court action. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Allegany County District Attorney’s Office with this investigation.

On April 12th, 2016, deputies were assisted by members of the City of Hornell Police Department with the arrest of Jason E. Hasper, 42, on a Violation of Probation Warrant issued by the Allegany County Court. Hasper was processed and then transported to the Allegany County Jail where he will be held without bail pending a court appearance in Allegany County Court.

On April 12th, 2016, deputies were assisted by members of the City of Hornell Police Department with the arrest of Crystal M. Walden, 33, on a Violation of Probation Warrant issued out of Allegany County Court. Walden was processed and then transported to the Allegany County Jail where she will be held without bail pending a court appearance in Allegany County Court.
