Another heroin arrest on I-390

INTERSTATE 390 GENESEO:  Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Nunda man on charges relating to alleged drug possession.
On April 9, 2016 at approximately 9:17 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Shawn Whitford of the Livingston County Sheriff's Office was working on Interstate 390 as part of Operation Safe Interstate with his K-9 partner Utah.   At that time, according to a press release, he observed a vehicle traveling south on the interstate with a registration violation.
During the course of the traffic stop it was found and the investigation alleges that a passenger in the vehicle, Dylan Swan, age 23 of Nunda, was in possession of a hypodermic needle as well as heroin that was located inside the needle.  Swan was placed in custody.  During the investigation it was also found that Swan was on parole and was out past his assigned curfew.
Swan was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Needle.  Swan was turned over to Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and to be held for arraignment.  Swan was arraigned on April 10th before Judge Houston in Geneseo Town Court.  The Judge held Swan on $250 cash or $500 bail. New York State Parole was also contacted who filed a violation of parole and Swan will be held.  Swan is being held at the Livingston County Jail.  Deputy Sheriff Scott Patterson and Deputy Sheriff Connor Sanford assisted on scene.
