BATH -- Registration is under way for the Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Civilian Preparedness Corps Training Program, slated for 6 p.m. April 28 at the Bath VA Hospital. Training is provided by the National Guard and provides attendees with information on how to protect themselves and their families during the immediate aftermath of a disaster or emergency. Backpacks with survival gear (one per family) also are provided at the conclusion of the program. The event is co-sponsored by state Senator Tom O’Mara, R-Big Flats and state Assemblyman Phil Palmesano, R-Corning. Participants must register at www.prepare.ny.gov.
