Fire wrecks Steuben County home
A two-alarm fire this morning has left a Pulteney family homeless. Pulteney volunteers were called out during the 2 a.m. hour for a house fire at 8614 county road 77. When the first fire chief arrived, he quickly called for more help from Hammondsport, Bath and Prattsburgh. The family was able to safely evacuate the single story dwelling. No serious injuries were reported. A fire investigation team was called to the scene. Firefighters were out for several hours. A nearby pond was used as an added water source. County tax records show the home is owned by a Pine City man.
