John was a lifelong resident of Wellsville who enjoyed playing bingo and attending yard sales. He had worked for Giant Food Mart, was for a time a home health care aid and later was a custodian for Wellsville Central Schools.
John is survived by 2 sons, Terry Armstrong of Belmont and Jonathan Armstrong of Wellsville; 2 daughters, Lori Armstrong of Wellsville and Tracy (Richard) Ahrens of Wellsville; 2 brothers, Glen Armstrong and Neal Cline; 3 sisters, Vina Wheaton, Olive Armstrong and Helen Coy; longtime companion Diana Fisher and the mother of his children Deborah Johnson.
John was predeceased by 3 brothers, Chub, Roy and Gordy Armstrong; 2 sisters, Alice Brownell and Jenny Greenman.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Wellsville from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at which time his memorial service will start.
