Rabies vaccination clinic coming to Wellsville

WELLSVILLE - The Allegany County Department of Health will hold a rabies pet vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to noon April 16 at the Wellsville Town Highway Department, 41 W. Hanover St. The clinic, for New York residents only, will be for dogs, ferrets and cats 3 months and older. Dogs should be on a leash and cats or ferrets in a pet carrier or on a harness and leash, organizers said. A previous vaccination certificate will be needed to receive a three‑ year certificate, otherwise only a one‑year certificate will be given. To preregister — which is required for groups of five or more animals — call (585) 268‑9250 and select option No. 1 or option No. 4. While the clinic is free, donations are appreciated, officials said. Pet owners will be required to clean up after their pets, and the health department reserves the right to refuse vaccinations to any animal.
