BRADFORD, PENNA. (April 6, 2016) -- Colonial Media and Entertainment is pleased to announce it has signed a definitive Asset Purchase Agreement to acquire the assets of WNMB in the Myrtle Beach, SC, market (Nielsen #147). WNMB AM900, licensed to North Myrtle Beach, has aired Beach and Oldies music for the North Myrtle Beach area since 1981, billing itself as “Wonderful North Myrtle Beach.” But the station recently fell on hard times and lost its tower site. Colonial Media + Entertainment Chairman/CEO Jeff Andrulonis says he is happy to be involved with the “rescue” of an AM signal. “WNMB went off the air last November after its tower site, which was located behind Barefoot Landing, was sold to developers following the 2012 death of long-time WNMB owner Bill Norman. I’m a radio entrepreneur and I’ve built both AMs and FMs from the ground up. Now I’m facing a race against the clock to try to get AM900 back on the air.” The station faces an automatic license deletion from the Federal Communications Commission if it remains off-air for twelve consecutive months. In Myrtle Beach, Colonial already operates gospel-formatted WMIR, heard on 6500watt AM1200 and coming soon to 95.5FM and 103.5FM all along the Grand Strand. A sales price for WNMB has not been released. When all contemplated transactions are completed, Colonial will operate 17 stations (5 AM/12 FM + 8 HD Radio simulcasts) in five markets over four states.
