Time to thank 911 Dispatch workers

April 10 – 16 marks the 35th anniversary of National Public Safety Telecommunicators’ Week.  Designed to honor all who serve in communications roles, it was originally conceived in California in 1981, and then officially proclaimed in 1991 by President Clinton. Since then, the second full week in April has been set aside for formal recognition of call takers, dispatchers, communications officers and everyone who works in 9-1-1 and dispatch centers.
