OLEAN, N.Y., May 27, 2016 – The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation has named Kirk Windus its communications and fund development coordinator.
Windus, a recent graduate of St. Bonaventure’s Russel J. Jandoli School of Journalism, is the foundation’s first full-time communications and fund development coordinator. In this position he will manage the foundation’s marketing, print and social media and assist the foundation’s growing portfolio of donors and funds.
Windus brings a diverse background of journalism and communications knowledge to the position. Prior to the new position, Windus interned with WMXO Mix 101.5 in Olean. He also served as the music director at WSBU the Buzz, St. Bonaventure’s nationally recognized radio station.
Windus said he’s excited by the opportunity to give back to the community as the new coordinator. “I was really drawn to the position because it provides a platform to do some good in the community,” he said. “The slogan says it all. I look forward to helping the foundation nurture a culture of giving and ‘growing good.’”
“Kirk’s strong journalism and media skills will help the CRCF expand its footprint in the region by creating a greater awareness of the foundation’s philanthropic and grantmaking services,” Karen Niemic Buchheit, CRCF executive director, said.
Windus currently resides in Bolivar with his family. He can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
