Former NYS Senate Leader headed to prison

The former leader of the NYS Senate is headed to prison. A judge Thursday sentenced Dean Skelos to five years in prison on corruption charges. At the peak of his political career, Skelos was one of the top three most powerful politicians in New York State. In a statement, the U.S. Prosecutor said "in the span of just 16 months, we have seen the arrest, prosecution, conviction, and sentencing of both leaders of the New York State legislature."
