Gov. Cuomo announces transit funding - $$ to flow across the region

Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced $59 million in state and federal funding for transit authorities and small urban and rural bus public transportation systems. This funding will be used to purchase new buses and related equipment and support transit infrastructure improvements, employment services and operating assistance in rural areas across the State.
$2.1 million has been awarded to Allegany County for operating assistance, mobility management services, construction of a park-and-ride facility and the purchase of five buses. $604,000 has been awarded to the city of Olean for operating assistance and the purchase of one bus. $207,000 is headed to the Seneca Nation of Indians for operating assistance. Others awards include:
-          $702,990 to the city of Hornell for operating assistance, purchase of equipment and the purchase of three buses.
-          $1.2 million to Steuben County for mobility management services, and the purchase of three buses.
-          $1.1 million to the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority in Livingston County for operating assistance, facility rehabilitation and the purchase of vehicles.
