Obituary: Donald R. Deibler, 66, Little Genesee

LITTLE GENESEE — Donald R. Deibler, of 8122 Willow Brook Road, passed away Friday (May 20, 2016) at the Arnot-Ogden Hospital in Elmira after a long illness. Born Aug. 8, 1949, in Olean, he was a son of Lynn and Ellamae Lyman Deibler. On July 7, 1973, at St. Raphael's Church in Eldred, Pa., he married Pamela M. Hepfer, who survives. Donald was a 1967 graduate of Olean High School and lived and worked in Olean all of his life. He was first employed for AVX Corp. and at the age of 21 he began working for Cooper Industries and retired after 41 years of employment. He was a family man first and enjoyed his time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He passionately loved the game of golf and he used to enjoy hunting when he was younger. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Aaron Deibler of Timmonsville, S.C., and Adam (Colleen) Deibler of Olean; two granddaughters, Brooklyn and Reagan Deibler; three siblings, Gary (Joan) Deibler of North Chili, Karen (Albert) Anastasia of Cuba and Dennis (Ann) Deibler of Gastonia, N.C.; several cousins; one aunt; one uncle; and nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Joelle, who always called him “Unc,” and her sister, Amy. Friends will be received on Tuesday (May 24, 2016) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road in Olean. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Marie Meeks, pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church in Portville, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olean. Memorials may be made to a cancer services organization of the donor's choice.
