Wellsville, NY - Maeneen Ann Dwyer Hendrick, a long time resident of Breckenridge Avenue, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center. Maeneen came into this world as the New Year’s baby in 1939. Born to Robert and Mary Aide (Mendonsa) Dwyer at Jones Memorial Hospital, she would live her entire life in Wellsville. Maeneen attended Immaculate Conception School and Wellsville High School, where she was a member of the class of 1957. After a short career in banking, Maeneen started her family in 1961 with the birth of Lori Ann. Eventually three more children were added to the family: Linda, James and Brian. In addition to raising her four kids, Maeneen also worked to make ends meet by providing daycare to many families across Wellsville. She volunteered for various causes, although she most passionately worked on behalf of the Fresh Air Fund, every summer bringing hundreds of underprivileged NYC kids to Wellsville and Allegany County to enjoy a country vacation. Later in life Maeneen enjoyed her role as beloved grandmother to Joseph and Katharyn Tronetti.
Maeneen is survived by her children; Lori Ann Hendrick, Linda (Michael) Tronetti, James (Christine) Hendrick, and Brian (Heidi) Hendrick, and two grandchildren: Joseph and Katharyn Tronetti as well as many longtime friends including Pierre and Ramona Akpo-Sani.
Maeneen was predeceased by her parents, her sister Kathleen Dwyer Marble on April 14, 2016 and her aunt, Roberta ”Bobbie” Mendonsa.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life Memorial Mass on Friday, May 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church on Maple Avenue in Wellsville.
