Obituary: Timothy "Timmy" E. Fanton, 53, Scio

SCIO — Timothy “Timmy” E. Fanton, of Scio, passed away at home on Saturday (April 30, 2016) following a short illness. Timmy was born on May 25, 1962, in Wellsville, to Richard A. Fanton and Wanda G. Babbitt Fanton, who survive him. He graduated from Scio Central School in 1981 and attended Alfred State College for auto body repair. On Aug. 20, 1983, he married his wife of 32 years. After several odd jobs, he found his passion for bridge building and worked for L.C. Whitford Co. Inc. for almost 30 years. He took pride in his work and was very dedicated to his job. He enjoyed spending time in his garage and going on adventures with his grandson, Jaxson. He is survived by his wife, Christine C. Fanton; his two children, Thomas (Bridget) Fanton and Sara (Andrew) Root; his grandson, Jaxson Fanton; his sister, Cynthia (Arthur) Marion; his brother, Richard (Judith) Fanton; and several nieces and nephews. Timmy touched many lives, and valued close friendships and family. He will always be loved by his family and greatly missed. Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday (May 6, 2016), with funeral services immediately following, all at the Mulholland Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville.
