Police make drug bust in Alfred

On May 10th, 2016, Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that following a lengthy investigation regarding illegal narcotics possession and sales of cocaine in the Village of Alfred, Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of the Alfred Police Department and the New York State University Police ,arrested Abraham J. Kalamadeen, age 21 of Brooklyn, New York.  Kalamadeen was charged with (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and (2) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, all class B felonies.
The arrest stems from incidents in which Kalamadeen allegedly sold illegal narcotics to an agent of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit in the Village of Alfred on two separate occasions.
Kalamadeen was processed and transported to the Village of Alfred Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail on $10,000.00 Cash Bail or $20,000.00 Property Bond.  Kalamadeen is to reappear in the Village of Alfred Court on May 16th, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. for additional court action.
