Potter County community events

*Family Fun Fair is Aug. 13*
Potter County Human Service’s 11th Annual Family Fun Fair on Saturday,
Aug. 13, at the Potter County Fairgrounds,
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the past, activities have included DCNR with Smokey Bear, a 4-H petting
zoo, the Hershey Kiss Mobile, the Boys & Girls Club Obstacle Course, super
hero photo shoot, dunk tank, bounce house, face painting, balloon animals,
clowns and children’s games, prizes and crafts. Free children’s books will
be available.
Child photos and finger printing identifications will be offered, as well
as free dental screenings and dental kits from Cole Memorial Hospital and
early childhood screenings and services. The Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire
and Ambulance department and Oswayo Valley Historical Society are also
expected to have displays.
There will also be anticipated information about county programs,
emergency preparedness, nutrition and wellness, parent and educational
information, pet safety, statewide adoption and permanency network,
grandparents/aging services, school materials, Special Kids Network, Talk
Baby and WIC.

*Acts sought for Coudersport’s Music at Arboretum*
Coudersport Rotary Club is searching for volunteer musical acts to
showcase their talents at Music at the Arboretum, a free weekly summer
concert series at the Arboretum in Coudersport.
Concerts are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday from June 8 to Aug. 24.
Rotary is looking for any and all acts, from rock to bluegrass to church
choirs to square dancing groups. Local vendors or nonprofit organizations
are also sought to sell food during each week’s concert.
If interested in signing up your musical act or selling food, contact

name of act and whether the act is equipped with its own sound system.
These concerts are free to attend.
