Press Release ONLY:
Tom Reed announces the Short Tract Fire Company in Fillmore will receive a federal grant as part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program awarded through the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
“I care about our first responders and the hard work that they do,” said Reed. “They make tremendous sacrifices to keep us safe and it’s only fair we make sure they have the resources they need to protect us.”
“The Short Tract Fire Company is grateful to receive this funding for new turnout gear to insure the safety of our members and serve our community to the best of our ability. The AFG program helps small, volunteer fire companies like ours obtain the resources we need to keep our residents safe, and we thank Congressmen Tom Reed for his support,” said Jeff Luckey, Allegany County Fire Coordinator and Director of Emergency Services and Member of the Short Tract Fire Company.
The Short Tract Fire Company will receive $ 62,739 as part of a federal grant to be used to buy turnout gear, which are the fire fighting suits worn by firefighters that provide protection from flames.
