Wellsville teen pleads not guilty to 7 counts of rape, other crimes, in Cattaraugus County

Joshua Baskins, 19, of Wellsville was arraigned in Cattaraugus County court Monday and entered a plea of not guilty to an indictment that charges him with seven  counts of Rape in the Second Degree, class E felonies; Burglary in the Second Degree, class C felony; nine counts of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, class A misdemeanors and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor. The alleged crimes occurred during January. The Cattaraugus County District Attorney said the alleged crimes occurred in the City of Olean.  Baskins is accused of knowingly and unlawfully entering a house and engaging in sexual intercourse with another person less than 15 years old and engaged in intentional disobedience or resistance to the lawful process or other mandate of a court. The matter has been adjourned for motions. Baskins remains in the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail.
