Woman sentenced in Andover dog abuse case

An Olean woman who faced a felony aggravated cruelty to animals charge in Allegany County was sentenced to time served. 30-year old Christine Kontz of South 8th Street was released from the Allegany County jail after having served 78 days. Prosecutors said Kontz failed to provide food and water to a chained dog in Andover last September. The dog later died. In court, Kontz pleaded guilty to a lesser misdemeanor charge.
