Allegany County: Man dies in 3 vehicle crash in Belmont

On Tuesday at 5:26 p.m., Troopers and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) responded to State Route 19 (Greenwich Street) in the Village of Belmont NY for a three vehicle crash. A 2010 Subaru Forester operated by Eric H. Hanson 62, of Leroy, NY was traveling south on route 19. Traveling northbound on route 19 was a 2004 Subaru Outback. Investigators said Hanson entered the northbound lane sideswiping the 2004 Outback. Hanson continued south, crossing the center line and struck a 2000 Ford F350 head on.
Hanson was taken from the scene by Amity Rescue in cardiac arrest to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville and was later pronounced dead.
The operator of the 2004 Subaru, Michael R. Hall, Whitesville, NY was uninjured. The operator of the 2000 Ford F350, Tylor Glover, Angelica, NY sustained minor lacerations.
The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was on scene to investigate.
This collision is still under investigation. Assisting at the scene were members from Belmont fire, Amity Rescue and Wellsville Ambulance. Mercy Flight landed near the scene, but due to Hanson's condition, he was rushed by ambulance to Jones Memorial. Scio fire also assisted with closing the state highway while police investigated.
