Caneadea man jailed on felony marijuana-selling charge

Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that following a lengthy investigation regarding the alleged illegal narcotics possession and sale of Marijuana in the Town of Caneadea, Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit Wednesday arrested Thomas J. Bromstead, age 27 of Caneadea.  Bromstead was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 5th Degree (B-misdemeanor) and one count of Criminal Sale of Marijuana in the 3rd Degree (E-felony).
The arrest stems from an incident in which Bromstead allegedly sold an illegal narcotic to an agent of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit in the Town of Caneadea.
Bromstead was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and remanded to the Allegany County Jail without bail.  Bromstead is to appear in Allegany County Court at a later date for additional court action.
