Court: Witter gets jail time for sex crime

An Andover man is now a registered sex offender after he admitted to abusing a child. Earl N. Witter, 63, of North Main Street pleaded guilty Tuesday in Allegany County court to one count of course of sexual conduct against a child 2nd, a class D felony. Prosecutors said that between 2010 and 2012, Witter engaged in sexual conduct with a child under the age of 11.
Judge Terry Parker sentenced Witter to six months in the Allegany County Jail, placed him on probation ten years, fined him a sex offender fee of $1,000 and issued a ten year order of protection for the victim.
