Fillmore: Man charged with felony DWI

On June 7, 2016, Troopers arrested Charles E. Heslin, 53 of Granger, NY for Felony Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.

Heslin was stopped on West Main Street in Fillmore for operating a motorcycle without a helmet. While being interviewed, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. Roadside tests were conducted which Heslin subsequently failed.  He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the State Police barracks at Fillmore for processing where he recorded a 0.9% BAC.  Heslin was convicted of DWI within the previous ten years, making his current charge a Felony. He was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st because at the time of the stop his driver's license was revoked for a prior Driving While Ability Impaired conviction.
Heslin was arraigned before the Town of Hume court where he posted $5,000 cash bail.  He is scheduled to reappear before the Town of Hume Court on 7/7/2016 at 5:00 p.m.
