PAVEMENT REHABILITATION & BRIDGE DECK
REPLACEMENT ON I-390
TOWNS OF COHOCTON & WAYLAND
STEUBEN COUNTYThe New York State Department of Transportation today announced that work will begin Monday, June 20, 2016, with pavement rehabilitation and bridge deck replacements on I-390. There will be lane closures from Exit 2 to Exit 3 in both the northbound and southbound lanes. This will be to build crossovers and to prepare for the project which will consist of placing new concrete pavement from Exit 2 – Cohocton to Exit 3 – Wayland. The bridge decks to be replaced are at Exit 2 that carries I-390 over county Road 121.
The project will be done in two phases and the first year all traffic will be maintained in the southbound lanes. This will consist of closing the Exit 2 northbound entrance ramp and also closing the Exit 3 northbound exit ramp. Work on this phase will run from July 18, 2016, to early November 2016.
Traffic will return to normal and all ramps will be open in the winter.
The second year will consist of placing all traffic in the northbound lanes and this will close Exit 3 southbound entrance ramp and Exit 2 southbound exit ramp. This will last from mid April 2017 to late August 2017 when traffic will return to normal.
There will be signs posted to direct traffic to Route 415 for travel between closed exit ramps. The construction contractor for this project is Cold Spring Construction Co. of Akron, NY.
