Livingston County Deputies: Man arrested after tossing a cigarette - then comes the drug charge

INTERSTATE 390: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of Andrew J. Buzzard Sr., 44, of Dansville, for Littering and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree as part of a combination of “Operation Safe Interstate” and “Operation Litterbug.”
As part of Operation Litterbug Deputy Sheriffs are taking a zero tolerance stance on littering on and around highways in Livingston County.  Deputy Shawn Whitford, who is detailed to Interstate 390 as part of Operation Safe Interstate, stopped a vehicle for allegedly littering out of a vehicle that was exiting off of Interstate 390.
Deputies said Buzzard Sr. was a passenger in the vehicle and he allegedly threw a cigarette out of a side window.  During the course of the traffic stop it is alleged that Buzzard Sr. was also in possession of Crack Cocaine.
Deputy Whitford took Buzzard Sr. into custody charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Littering. Buzzard Sr. was transported to Central Booking at the Livingston County Jail for processing and to be held in pre-arraignment detention.  He will be arraigned later today on the charges.
