Carole M. VanderLinden, 75, of 14 Grove Street, Cuba, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Cuba Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born on December 20, 1940, in Olean, New York she was a daughter of Willard and Thelma Hamilton Bixby. On August 26, 1961, in West Clarksville, she married Ronald G. VanDerLinden who survives.
Mrs. VanDerLinden was a graduate of Portville Central School Class of 1960. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed doll collecting, crocheting, knitting, and making Afghans. She was a member of Obi Community Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Terry (Amy) VanDerLinden of Spencerport and Michael (Lorri) VanDerLinden of Berrysville, VA; her grandchildren Ian, Mieka, Emma, Kate, Seth, Grace, Heidi; two brothers, Harold (Nancy) Bixby of Black Creek and Robert (Mary) Bixby of Richburg; two sisters, Sevilla (Ray) VanDerLinden, Stanton, TX and Bonnie (Richard) Brunner, Obi; special friends, Liz Edwards, Kelley Brickey who was like a daughter she never had and her children Elroy, Alyson, and Cameron as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents. Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service Inc., 9 Bull Street, Cuba, on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held. The Rev. David Cook, pastor of Obi Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, New York.
