Rosemary was born on April 14, 1921 in Hornell to Michael and Rosemary (Manley) Lynch. She was a 1939 graduate of Andover Central School. She later graduated from New York University in New York City. She worked her entire career in the Manhattan garment industry as a purchaser.
Rosemary is survived by two brothers, Richard “Dick” (Maureen) Lynch of Sanford, Fla. and John (Sally) Lynch of Rochester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two brothers, George Lynch and Dan Lynch; and three sisters, Margaret Lynch, Jean Lynch and Cecelia Dugan.
Rosemary loved animals, especially dogs. She was affectionately known by some as the dog lady because she was often seen walking her dog Pepper along the streets of Andover. She was also very fond of travelling. Some of her favorite destinations were such places as Hawaii and San Francicso.
Rosemary was a faithful member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Andover. She was an active member of the Andover Chamber of Commerce, the Andover Red Hat Society and the Women’s Hospital Ladies Auxiliary at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.
There will be no prior visitation. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Andover. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
