State Police arrest couple for growing marijuana in Livingston County

Subsequent to a two month investigation, the New York State Police in Livingston County arrested Rebekah Schreppel, age 27 and Dennis Nelson, age 29, previously from the town of Lima for Criminal Possession of Marijuana 2nd (D-Felony) and Unlawful Growing Marihuana. A search warrant of the residence resulted in the seizure of more than 8 pounds of processed marijuana, 146 plants growing inside the home, 1/3 of a pound of concentrated THC, growing equipment and approximately $19,000.00 in cash. The two residentsallegedly had two indoor grow enclosures and had a room in the basement converted to a third grow area. All three grow rooms were fitted with a grow lights and an elaborate ventilation system in an effort hide the smell of marijuana.

Police also said the pair had a system in place to extract the THC from the plants in order to produce concentrated oil and the crystallized form of THC commonly known as "Shatter". It is unknown how long the operation had been running, but alleged detailed journals documenting growing activity were located that dated back several years. They were arraigned in the Town of Lima Court and to reappear on July 11th, 2016.
