Trailer home destroyed by fire in Scio - UPDATED

Just before 2 p.m. Sunday, Scio and Wellsville fire and Wellsville ambulance were called to a house trailer on fire on state route 19, just south of the southern most railroad tracks in Scio, near the Riverside Campground. The trailer was destroyed. At least one person sustained smoke inhalation at the scene. Route 19 was closed for more than an hour and fire crews worked the scene. Wellsville ambulance dumped its bay with Amity Rescue and Andover Rescue placed on standby. A fire chief said the trailer was fully involved in flames when he arrived. The Red Cross has been dispatched to the scene to assist. Fire investigators responded to the scene to determine the cause and origin. By 3 p.m., several Scio units were placed back in service and route 19 traffic was restored to a single lane.
UPDATE: Scio fire chief Jim Ames said the trailer was totally destroyed and the Red Cross is assisting. The trailer was rented by two adults but no names were available. Ames said while investigators are still probing the cause, there is no indication that the fire was suspicious. Ames said one EMS worker sustained minor burns, but did not require hospital treatment. Belmont fire also assisted while Allentown stood by. Ames said firefighters were at the scene for about 2 hours.
