A New York State Parole officer was injured at 8:38 a.m. Tuesday after an apparent dog attack on Fassett Lane in Wellsville. According to a chilling radio request for help, the officer said "I need an ambulance...I'm bleeding pretty bad...hurry." Wellsville police and state troopers raced to the scene, followed shortly by Wellsville EMS. The officer was rushed to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. Her condition has not been released. Initial reports indicated the parole officer had been bitten "several times." The dog was initially confined at the scene. State police are investigating.
